My first design job was editor of The Vanguard, my high school newspaper. I learned the importance of spell-check (microorganisms really needs that “ni”) and how fun late nights in front of a computer screen could be. Fast-forward to holding my breath as the ball dropped at midnight on Y2K (and I waited to see if a client’s 256 color 640×480 healthcare website was still live) and onward to wonderful team collaborations (big pharma and small town)…I still love to create brands.
With a background in marketing and advertising I now own my own design shop where I specialize in brand development for small businesses and startups. Specifically, I love to help people develop a strong brand identity and all the materials to support it, starting with a website and including mood board exercises, logos, business cards/letterhead, invitations and other printed pieces, store displays, and social media marketing. I do the design and programming myself, though I have a good network of copywriters, photographers, illustrators, and printers to pull in when needed. My rates vary based on the project and parameters but I can confidently say that I am quick to grasp the essentials and have the experience to create the best solution rapidly.
I am proficient in Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign. WordPress, Squarespace or Shopify sites with custom html/css, too. I provide social media branding and marketing plans as well as training on how you can make it all play together nicely.
